Wins by White Birch and Audi in Sunday’s “mini quarterfinals” set the stage for Wednesday’s semifinals of the 2016 U.S. Open Polo Championship at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, located in Wellington, Florida.
In the first match, Mariano Obregon (7), Hilario Ulloa (9), Mariano Aguerre (9) and Peter Brant (1) of team White Birch defeated Lucchese, including John Muse (0), Magoo Laprida (8), Nico Pieres (8) and 10-goaler Sapo Caset, by 13-12. The second game saw team Audi, consisting of Marc Ganzi (1), Gonzalo Pieres (9), Rodrigo Andrade (9) and Freddie Mannix (7), winning against team Valiente, including Bob Jornayvaz (2), Santi Torres (7), Tomas Garcia del Rio (8) and Alfredo Capella (9), by 13-6.
The 112th U.S. Open Polo Championship continues with the semifinals, which will be held on Wednesday, 20 April 2016. At 10.30 am Dubai will face Audi and at 4.00 pm Orchard Hill will encounter White Birch.
