Polo in South Africa is fast becoming a part of not only the “well heeled”, but also many other citizens who have come to appreciate this royal sports.

It all began many moons ago where the Prince Edward of Wales himself, toured South Africa and played a series of polo games, a cup was donated by the Prince at the end of his visit, giving the game on African soil well deserved royal heritage.

The polo tournament “Prince of Wales Cup” has become a tradition for many South Africans who eagerly mark this event in high anticipation. This group of people varies from die hard polo fans, ex-players, local celebrities and those who simply love watching the players knocking – it – out for the cup, where the national South African polo team is selected.

A day out with family and friends is the order of the day under the blazing sun and blue African sky, Mr. Concierge will once again be the proud host of the upcoming 108th Prince of Wales Polo Cup on the 28-30 August 2015. This prestigious event will be held on the green banks of the beautiful Waterfall Equestrian Polo Estate, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Polo knock out games will kick-off on Friday, 28th August, which will be followed by the semi-finals and the grand finale on the Sunday.

About the Prince of Wales Polo Cup
In 1925 while on the Royal Tour of Africa, Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales presented the cup for the winners of the three-day tournament. The annual event that attracts South Africa’s top talents has grown in stature as the winners go on to represent South Africa in the national team. Mr Concierge and the South African Polo Association (SAPA), established in 1905, host the tournament.
