Start of Open de France

On Saturday, 5th September 2015, the Open de France will begin at Polo Club de Chantilly! Until 20th September, seven teams with a handicap of 14 to 16 goals will compete against each other in one of the most important tournaments of Europe’s polo season. POLO+10 will be present as media partner of the Polo Club de Chantilly and will report for you!

The participating players come from six different nations and during the last months many of them have achieved successes at tournament all over Europe such as in Germany, in Spain, in Switzerland and in France. La Quinta, who participated in last year’s edition under the name of Vicomte A, will try to defend its title in Chantilly and has also won on Sunday the Open du Soleil of Saint-Tropez, lead by its captain Dario Musso (+7). The other finalist of 2014, Sainte-Mesme, shined for its part during the Spanish season of Sotogrande at the Land Rover International Polo Tournament, where the team took the Gold Cup in the section Medium Goal.

The Polo Club de Chantilly presents two teams in Chantilly. The first one is formed by French players only: Clément Delfosse (+5) and Brieuc Rigaux (+5), who just came back from Switzerland, where on Sunday he won the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polo Masters at Polo Club de Veytay, as well as Robert Strom (+4) alongside his father and captain Birger Strom (+1). The second team counts in its ranks the third French handicap of 5 goals, Pierre Henri Ngoumou, who won last Sunday the Coupe d’Or in Deauville. The Argentinian Ramiro Zavaleta (+3) was part of this successful team in Deauville: we will see him again in Chantilly within the Ghantoot Racing Polo Club team alongside the European number one, British Luke Tomlinson (+7). The finalist team of this Coupe d’Or in Deauville, Marquard Media, will also be part of this French Open, presenting the exceptional Martin Aguerre (+6).

Tom Tailor’s Germans arrive in Chantilly with a win on the last weekend at one of the biggest German tournaments, the Berlin Maifeld Cup. Uwe Schröder (0), the Captain, has hired especially for Chantilly, one of the three greatest South-African players, the spectacular Chris McKenzie (+6) as well as the polo professional Gastón Maíquez (+6) from Argentina.

On Saturday, an exhibition game proposed by the official timekeeper of the Polo Club of Chantilly, Richard Mille, as part of the vintage cars gathering, will be the kick-off of the French Open.
