After the great success of last few years, the 2015 polo season will open on Sunday, 24 May 2015 in Milan, with the 4th edition of the polo tournament “Coppa Svizzera”, organised by Milano Polo Club in cooperation with the Swiss Consulate General in Milan, which will also commit General Consul Massimo Baggi as a player.

Five teams with handicaps of 4-6 goals will participate in the international tournament, which will be held in cooperation with the National Cavalry Association and the Argentinian label La Martina, leading outfitter in the sport of polo and official supplier of the club. The players will wear the Argentinian brand and they will also use its technical equipment.

This year the event will also include an entertainment programme and the ever-present “Ladies ‘hats” contest.

Many sponsors and partners will support the event: Zurich, Svizzera Turismo, Elite, Suisse Cheese, Swiss International AirLines, Bernina Express, Ricola, Lindt & Sprüngli SpA, Nestlé Motta, Nespresso, NW Engineering e Datawebservice. In addition to the firm institutional partners of the season like Hublot, Unopiù, San Pellegrino and Bonsaglio, this year we will also see the CONI – Comitato Regionale Lombardia, CittàExpo and FISE – Comitato Lombardia. The involvement of the Argentinian Restaurant in Milan El Porteño was restored.

This year Milano Polo Club supports two charity organisations: The Theodora Onlus Foundation, which since 1995 helps children and their families in hospital in facing the difficulties of the hospitalization through the visit of “Dottor Sogni”, professional artists trained by the foundation for the work in children’s hospital.

Furthermore there is the Alessandro Maria Zancan ONLUS Foundation, a new-born association by Giorgio and Luisa Zancan, which was founded in the loving memory of Alessandro Maria Zancan, who was affected by Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when he was 8 years old. This foundation’s main goal is helping the suffering children and their families in supporting the scientific research in terms of children’s leukaemia. The president of this foundation is Dr. Momcilo Jankovic, who is responsible of the S.Gerardo Hospital in Monza, a center of excellence in Italy and in all over the world in healing leukaemia and children tumours.
