The 2017 La Aguada Polo Club season, Presented by Río Uruguay Seguros, will kick off on September 23, with the Novillitos Cup, the children’s tournament. It will be a great start of an upcoming full packed action season for all levels and for everyone, that will run through December.
In addition to the already established competitions at the Novillo Astrada family’s club, there will be a couple of very interesting news this year. The Julio Novillo Astrada Cup, the club’s premier tournament, will take place through October 16-27, and has its handicap raised from 20-goal to 22-goal. In addition, a new tournament will be hired to the polo calendar: the second edition of the Argentine Amateur Championship.
The Argentine Amateur Championship, that enjoyed a great success in its first edition last Autum, is set exclusively for amateur players, and will feature two levels of play: 0-4 goal and 4-8 goal. Amateur players will have another opportunity to play at the 10-goal La Aguada Challenge, a tournament that will showcase only one professional player per team.
Meanwhile, another very popular tournament of the club, the La Aguada Spring Cup is having a handicap raise this year – from 12-goal to 14-goal.
The long-time and successful cooperation with two of the most renowned polo clubs worldwide, Guards Polo Club and Cowdray Park Polo Club, will continue through the two events brought together with La Aguada – La Aguada Cowdray Park Polo Trophy and La Aguada Guards Polo Trophy. La Aguada is very delighted to welcome members and players of the two prestigious clubs to play the 16-goal tournaments.
And last but not least, ladies have their own place set at La Aguada – the La Aguada Ladies Cup will be the ideal icing of the cake for a season that promises to be one of the best of the last years.
