Ellerman House in Cape Town’s Bantry Bay has truly set the bar for the most authentic South African wine environment with its selection of extraordinary Ellerman House Wine Experiences. The Ellerman House Wine Gallery (designed by architect, Michael Dennett) is a stunning work of art in itself, combining the passion projects of this extraordinary hotel – art and wine. Complete with a human-scale Corkscrew (by Brian Steinhobel) Terroir Wall (by Angus Taylor), landscaping the soils of some of the country’s most well-known wine estates; and a beautiful Brandy Lounge, Ellerman House is the definitive epicurean dream.
Under the curation of Ellerman House sommelier, Manuel Cabello, the Wine Gallery now houses a 7,500 strong collection of South African wine representing both established and emerging labels from the Western Cape’s world-renowned wine regions. The ongoing collection celebrates in its entirety the 350 year old heritage of winemaking in the country, making it one of the most important national collections.
