Sensation in Val D’Isère! For the first time ever on the BMW Polo Masters Tour a British team crossed the channel to come and win the Barmes de l’Ours trophy. For the 6th edition of the BMW Polo Masters in Val D’Isère, team Avenue Lodge Paul Knights (0), Jonny Good (+5) and Tim Bown (+3) won against Laurent Dassault (0), Matthieu Delfosse (+4) and Patrick Paillol (+4) of team Les Barmes de l’Ours by 8-7.

The French team Barmes de l’Ours had held the title for the last 4 years, this year they had to admit defeat after an exciting final. During the match both teams constantly were neck and neck, 7-7 at the end of the four chukkas. It was during the extra chukka, called “Sudden-Death”, where ruling states the game stops after the first one scores, the English Jonny Good hit the decisive goal, bringing victory to his team. Third place on the podium went to the BMW team represented by Birger Strom (+1), his son Robert (+4) and his nephew Alexis Pouille (+2), who won against the Hexis Energy Drink team by 9-7.

More than 1500 spectators had come to the winter resort Val D’Isère from January 15th to 18th to witness the exciting matches. One of the highlights was the parade down the snow covered main street, including all participating teams.
