In the final of this year’s USPA Fall Plates at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, Glen Straub, Guille Aguero, Kris Kampsen and Juancito Bollini of team Palm House fought to the last minute and finally defeated Melissa Ganzi, Kaisser Maakar, Luis Escobar and Juan Bollini of team Audi by 11-10.
During the first half of the match, team Audi was in the lead and Palm House dropped behind. At the start, Audi received two goals by handicap from Palm House. The foursome tried to make up leeway, but Audi retained the lead and by half-time they were two goals ahead, 6-4.
At the beginning of the second half, Palm House stormed back onto the field, scoring three consecutive goals and taking the lead. From this moment on, both teams exchanged goals and took turns assuming leadership. Guille Aguero scored the winning goal for Palm House with just over a minute left in regulation play. Audi could not tie it up and Palm House left the playing field as winners, 11-10. Guille Aguero was named Most Valuable Player and his Dark Bay mare Zulu received Best Playing Pony honours.
