Winner of the fifth Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic at New York is Team Black Watch.

During four racy chukkers on the 15 hectare lawn in Liberty State Park at Jersey City right across the New York Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Team Black Watch scored with 9:7 against Team Nespresso on the first place. Most Valuable Player became the +6-scorer Nacho Figueras from the winning team.

A special highlight: broadway star Sean Palmer elated the crowd with his version of the american national anthem. The non-profit riding program „work to ride“ was the charity partner of the New York polo event. „Work to ride“ works with disadvantaged kids from more rural regions.

„In the very impressive scenery of the Statue of Liberty it was our honor to welcome 6.000 guests“ summarize the co-organizers Nacho Figueras, Delfina Blaquier and Veuve Clicquot U.S. president Vanessa Kay as well as Golden Globe winner Clive Owen.
