Tribute Portfolio Debuts on U.S. West Coast with Signing of Iconic Riviera Palm Springs

Tribute Portfolio™, the newest collection of independent hotels from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., has announced that it will be debuting on the West Coast with the addition of the Riviera Palm Springs in California. Located on 21-acres in downtown Palm Springs, the resort has established itself as the go-to destination for locals and vacationers alike seeking the perfect desert getaway. Ahead of its debut as the Riviera Palm Springs, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, in November 2015, the property will undergo a multi-million dollar upgrade, including the addition of a new pool bar, wedding pavilion and enhanced lobby.

“The Riviera Palm Springs, with its memorable design elements and distinctive list of services and amenities, is a perfect addition to the Tribute Portfolio brand,” said Dave Marr, Global Brand Leader, Tribute Portfolio. “We look forward to working with the new owners and are excited to give our SPG® members access to this magnificent resort in the classically chic destination of Palm Springs.”

The Riviera Palm Springs features 398 rooms and more than 52,000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. The resort also offers a fitness center, business center, three outdoor pools, and an 11,000 square foot spa with 18 treatment rooms. Circa 59, the resort’s signature Palm Springs restaurant, offers quality, eco-friendly seafood, boutique farm meats and locally-grown produce from the Coachella Valley. Bars and lounges at the resort, include the Starlite Lounge, the perfect spot for a classic cocktail or nightcap; Sidebar, a sophisticated bar and lounge with a resident mixologist; and two poolside bars.

An Independent League of its Own
Starwood’s 10th brand and second collection of independent hotels, Tribute Portfolio debuted in April 2015 with its first hotel, the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, and recently announced two new hotels, including the Great Northern Hotel in London, UK and the Kiroro Hotel, Hokkaido, Japan. Future locations are slated for Coral Gables, FL, Asheville, NC and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Firmly anchored in the four-star, upper upscale category, the Tribute Portfolio brand allows owners of distinct properties to maintain their independent spirit, while benefiting from Starwood’s powerful distribution, loyalty and sales platforms. Starwood aims to grow the brand to 100 hotels by 2020, with locations in high-demand destinations and markets where SPG members travel.
