It has been a very humid summer in Peking so far – with the heaviest rainfall in 60 years. But finally better weather conditions are expected. Best pre-conditions for the second half of the season at the Chinese Tang Polo Club. International tournaments and thrilling chukkas are on the plan for the upcoming two months.

This weekend, 25th and 26th of August 2012, a young visit is waiting in front of the club’s doors: the 11 to 16 year old players of the “Young UK“ team shall demonstrate especially for the younger generation in China that polo is a sport for every age. Parallel the club is advertising for women’s polo.

One of the most important tournaments in China is the Royal Salute Gold Cup. The acknowledged “National Open Polo Tournament of China“ 16-goal-tournament will be played on the 22nd and 23rd of September and takes place for the second time. Many international players are awaited in 2012. The Tang Polo Club was able to win Royal Salute for the head and title sponsoring for the upcoming years. Another part of the Chinese Polo Open is the 4-goal-tournament on the 1st and 2nd of September and an 8-goal tournament on the 8th and 9th of September 2012, both presented by the Tang Polo Club to work stronger for the youth. Chinese polo trainees will start supported by international players in these tournaments.

A new polo tournament, the Cartier International China Polo Challenge event will happen at the Tang Club in cooperation with the Guards Polo Club from the 10th to the 14th of October 2012. Earlier the Guards Polo Club hosted the challenge at Dubai. Now the Brits have made a perennial contract with Tang Polo Club.

The BMW China Amateur Open (20th and 21st of October 2012) is part of the bigger polo events in China, too. Only Chinese teams will take part in this tournament – and their number is increasing annually.
