Malibu’s Golden Coast, so known for its 50 miles of beach from Santa Monica to Malibu, has a polo scene that includes old Hollywood history, music and entertainment. The location is at the historic Will Rogers Park in Pacific Palisades and the event is the nonprofit, Safety Harbor Kids 9th Annual Polo Classic sponsored by luxury property company Engel & Völkers and high end automotive dealer Bentley Beverly Hills. Also supporting the event will be noted author, Marnie Greenberg, Co-Creator of the universally acclaimed Yuen Method to delete stress and pain on the spot.
The venue is a polo field and estate formerly owned by 1930’s entertainer Will Rogers and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The site has been the filming location of movies including Star Trek IV (William Shatner, Nichelle Nicols 1986). Old Hollywood royalty including Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Walt Disney, and Gary Cooper frequented the estate for a game of polo.
With special entertainment by Grammy winner Albert Lee and half time show featuring Dream World Cirque, guests will enjoy a gourmet luncheon, open bar, high tea, an art exhibit and silent auction, red carpet photos and the traditional champagne divot stomp. With a VIP lounge and private cabanas guests will also enjoy a wine tasting and chamber music in the Safety Harbor Kids Orchid Garden. Last years attendees included Caitlyn Jenner, John Savage (Deer Hunter, 1978) and music great and Commander of the British Empire, Peter Asher who will emcee the event this year.
