Today on the historical Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, Francesco Mitrano, the founder of Monte Carlo Polo Club and several high handicap players from around the world, paraded through the streets of Monaco, to end up in an outstanding lunch in the salon of the world renowned Hotel, to celebrate the beginning of the 2nd edition of the Monte Carlo Polo Cup, part of the Maserati Centennial Polo Tour, that started on July 3rd and will end on July 6th. POLO+10 is present at the event and will be reporting live from Monaco.

The four teams, Cartier, Twiga/Cipriani, Maserati and EFG Bank showed their best horses in a traditional parade, surprising the passing tourists, on a rainy but warm monégasque afternoon. These teams were supposed to play today the first game, but due to the heavy rains, the match was suspended but not for long, as tomorrow the world renowned players will meet to play and finally announce the winner of the Tournament.

The outstanding list of players includes players from Germany as Eva Brühl (+3), Lucas Labat (+7), and Facundo (+5) and Pedro (+5) Fernández Llorente from Argentina, Tito Gaudenzi (+3) from USA, and more players from Italy, UK, Switzerland, and Ireland.

The Monte Carlo Polo Club has organized a weekend full of social and sportive activities in full luxury, for the players, sponsors, and their guests, to fully enjoy their stay in Monaco. This activities also include an interesting and traditional “Hat contest” with the theme “Fleurs d’ ate”, a gala dinner in the Monte Carlo Beach Club complemented with the participation of the Soprano Délia Noble, a fashion show and much more.
