On 24th September the long-awaited Argentine Triple Crown has started with the first match of the Tortugas Open. Yesterday the second finalist of the first part of the tournament series emerged. The Argentine Triple Crown consists of the three Opens Tortugas Open, Hurlingham Open and Argentine Open and is a series of the most important tournaments worldwide.

On Saturday, 4th October, La Dolfina, including Adolfo Cambiaso (+10), David Stirling (+10), Pablo Mac Donough (+10) and Juan Martín Nero (+10), totally outperformed Magual by defeating them by 17-5 and secured the first berth in the final. Since yesterday it is known who will be their opponent in Sunday’s final: Ellerstina, consisting of the Pieres brothers Facundo (+10), Gonzalo (+10) and Nicolás Pieres (+9) as well as their brother-in-law Mariano Aguerre (+9), defeated Alegría by 13-10 and now is also fighting for the victory of this year’s Tortugas Open.

The teams La Dolfina and Ellerstina will meet for the fourth consecutive year in the final of the Tortugas Open. Ellerstina won it in 2011 and 2012. In 2013 La Dolfina won it and also won the Argentine Triple Crown. The final will be held on Saturday, 11th October at 3.30 pm (local time).
