On Saturday, 10th of November, the archrivals Ellerstina and La Dolfina will compete for the title of the Argentine Triple Crown 2012.

Last year’s winner La Dolfina won against the team Pilará Piaget on Monday with a score of 17:16 and qualified for the final of the 119th Hurlingham Open HSBC.

Pilará Piaget closed in on the 10 goalers of La Dolfina and gave them a hard time: especially the power of Francisco de Narváez (+8) in the back was one of the key elements for a successful strategy. Nevertheless La Dolfina with Adolfo Cambiaso (+10), David Stirling (+10), Pablo MacDonough (+10) and Juan Martín Nero (+10), was always one step ahead and finally won the match.

Ellerstina qualified for the final with a score of 23:13 against La Natividad. During the first part of the match Ellerstina already took the lead, scoring 14:8. After the sixth chukka Facundo Pieres (+10), Mariano Aguerre (+9), Gonzalo Pieres (+10) and Nicolás Pieres (+9) extended their lead and were out of reach for La Natividad.

Ellerstina already won the Tortugas Open 2012 (POLO+10 reported) – if they also win the Hurlingham Open, it would be the second tournament of the Argentine Triple Crown 2012.
