As the end of the year gets closer, the first tournament of the Argentine Triple Crown, the Tortugas Open, is about to start, followed by the Hurlingham Open and the Argentine Open. The Argentine Triple Crown is a series of the most important tournaments worldwide. The Tortugas Open will start on 23th September, Hurlingham Open will begin on 25th October and the start of the Argentine Open is 15th November. The great final of the Argentine Open will take place on 6th December in Buenos Aires.

On Wednesday 27th August, different members of the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) and its president, Mr. Francisco E. Dorignac, together with other important polo personalities and members of the playing teams, decided the zones where the different matches of the Argentine Triple Crown will be played. In addition, the AAP announced the implementation of innovative game actions during the event in order to speed up the game and make the matches even more entertaining.

There will be three regulations:
1) goals scored using a move within the team will count as double,
2) only four players (two of each team) will be able to do a throw-in; the rest of the players will wait at a 10-yards distance from them,
and 3) the penalty shot distance is limited to a maximum of 50 yards

The teams and the Zones where they will compete for the AAP’s Triple Crown are:
A total of six teams will compete at the Tortugas Open. Two more teams will be added to the final list of teams that will play at the Hurlingham Open and the Argentine Open, and they will be decided at the “Torneo Clasificatorio 90 Años de la AAP”, a qualifying tournament that will be celebrated between September 26th and October 7th at Palermo / Buenos Aires.
